SWANSTON NEW GOLF CLUB

The design phase commenced late in 2005 with the aim of producing new holes for the main course to replace 5 of the weakest holes on the current course and to create a short course for beginners plus a driving range. The final design included 6 new holes which would eventually turn out to be holes 13-18 for the main course and 9 short holes for beginners together with the driving range and other practice facilities. These facilities will complement the excellent new clubhouse.

One of our main design objectives was to create the best holes we could within a newly formed landscape, one which would more closely reflect the natural hillside topography of the surrounding area, particularly to the south side.In addition to the new holes on the new landscape a new 6th hole was created on the existing course site and to complete the routing of 18th holes it was necessary to replace the old 17th and 18th holes with a new par 3 which is now the 12th hole.

The photos below show some of the new holes.
