Turnhouse Golf Club has embarked on a programme of upgrading key areas of the course. I designed a new 5th hole in 2004 to remove a safety problem and in 2005 the 14th green was upgraded by improving the surface contours and also the drainage.

In 2006 the 9th green was re-modelled (below) and vastly improved to solve a drainage problem and create more surface area for pin positions whilst retaining the original 7 bunker complex around this very challenging par 3 hole.

2007 saw the upgrade of greens 3 and 6 to improve surface drainage and I designed new practice facilities which are now being used extensively. This included a new practice pitching green with 3 different bunker options as well as a new putting green. During the winter of 2007 the bunkering at green 15 was completely re-modelled (see below)

In 2008 I designed a new green for hole 1 and this was constructed with vastly improved drainage.

This sort of investment programme is crucial to the success of Turnhouse in future. New greens will provide members and visitors with more opportunities for year-round golf.
